This was an awful movie. Once again the plot has devolved into the likes of Godzilla vs. King Kong, by which I mean the entire back story was just playing up to the movie's idea: Godzilla versus a monster made from pollution. There was a huge environmental undertone to the whole thing, as well as some really cheesy 70's groovy partying. Many parts just plain didn't make sense. It kind of made me realize how much the back story actually provided to the other movies in terms of watchability. And the part where Godzilla flies??? That's just... awful. Lastly I want to mention that there was no moral resolution. Godzilla killed the pollution monster, which seems to tell me that we're free to be irresponsible and throw our trash where-ever we want because big ol' G-man will fix everything for us. Lame. I hope the next one is better.
