Meteorite hits Earth, awakening Godzilla and causes Mothra egg to be uncovered. Mothra and Battra both awaken. Godzilla fights Mothra. Battra joins fight against both of them. Mothra escapes. Godzilla and Battra fall into undersea magma. Mothra changes from larva form to moth form. Godzilla comes out of Mount Fuji, and Battra resurfaces. Battra and Mothra fight. Battra wins. Battra and Godzilla fight. Godzilla wins. Mothra and Battra fight Godzilla. Godzilla kills Battra, but is dropped into the sea and some kind of light is cast over Godzilla by Mothra. Then Mothra leaves for space to try and stop a meteor coming to hit earth in 1999.

This was an interesting re-introduction of Mothra, and I can accept it. The twins were just as cheesy and I like how they still had their little house box. I liked the allusions to the first film with the egg, and having Mothra as this godlike protector. It was generally pretty good. Though maybe a bit absurd to think that a moth and a bat-moth are the good/evil of the world. Not sure what the whole meteor in space thing was all about... I guess we'll see.
