In high school I took a class in Stonecarving with the artist/educator Jaap Bongers. This experience really inspired me to pursue the art as a hobby. Except that during college I didn't really have the time or tools to invest in it.
Early on in college I bought a stone from the Pearl art store in New York and carried around this small stone with a few sketchy design plans for a long time. It wasn't until after I graduated that I had time to sit down and work on this project. It was fun, though being a small design it became somewhat tedious. Eventually I finished my project and gave it to my mother for her birthday.
I have more design ideas, but once again I have other priorities that are currently higher than this hobby.
